Yesterday my school held a tea party event in honor of the museum exhibit Japan Fashion Now. The main guests included Gashicon "who oversees graphic design for fashion brand h.NAOTO and illustrates the HANGRY & ANGRY serial comic strip", and the founders of Tokyo Rebel (right now the only store in NYC that sells Japanese alternative street fashion).

Here are some things I've sewn recently~

Left side: Sewed flowers onto a scarf to cover up a hole.
Top right: Made a skirt out of an old pair of jeans.
Bottom right: Black lacey skirt (mainly to put under other skirts or dresses) and a matching hair bow.

This puppy is a pretty cool guy eh wears sunglasses and doesn't afraid of anything.

Fake Ice Cream Cones

It's been a long time since I last posted! :D Hope everyone is having a good summer~ (I'm not a big fan of the heat :I)

Anyway, I made these for my friend's birthday this weekend. They are inspired by Bakerella's Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops.

I followed regular instructions for making red velvet cake balls (red velvet + cream cheese frosting) and put the mixture inside the cones. I put the ice cream cones in the fridge for a while to get firm before coating them in white chocolate with a spatula (to give it a realistic ice cream texture). They were then covered in either sprinkles or melted dark chocolate and topped with a peanut M&M. :3

There was an Alice themed party at my school this week. We played games and ate delicious cookies. I'm glad I got some before they were all gone. If I knew about it in advance I would have dressed up!! ;A;

Today I accidentally crushed the end of my parasol in my car's door. ;____; I'm not happy about this. The door bent it like it was made out of candy.

Luxury Roll & School

Had this very delicious sushi roll called a Luxury Roll and it was certainly a luxury. XD It was so tasty! Spicy mayo, tuna, asparagus, eel, special sauce = winning combo.

I started school August 31! I've got 8 classes this semester: general illustration, yoga, art history, painting, Illustrator CS4, typography, figure drawing, and psychology.

I borrowed my friend's camera and took some photos of Logan this weekend. Hopefully I can use them during my painting class.

Cupcakes

I got my hands on this great book called 'Hello, Cupcake!' a few days ago. It's not a recipe book, but a book on crazy ways to decorate cupcakes. SO COOL!

We made these howling werewolves that are so adorable. It would probably work better with chocolate cupcakes, but we used a Funfetti mix because it's tasty. The book shows you how to make frosting look like fur and their noses are marshmallows with a Fruit by the Foot mouth.

Their ears are also made out of marshmallows and their eyes and noses are hard candies. (We used M&Ms!) The wolves in the book also have pointy teeth, but we didn't really have the skill to make perfect teeth. :( Anyway, I LOVE this book!!

Mitsuwa Trip

Got a chance to go to Mitsuwa today~ It's a Japanese super market in New Jersey, but it's huge! So exciting.

We ate lunch in the food court and I got tempura don (deep fried shrimp and vegetables in a bowl of rice), miso soup, salad, an orange slice, and some purple stuff. Delicious!!

I also tried taiyaki for the first time. It's a fish shaped pastry filled with red bean paste. It's like a waffle, but with a tasty center.

The city skyline looks so cool from New Jersey.
